About Us
All Abilities Hoops WA is an inclusive basketball community based in Perth, Western Australia, dedicated to creating meaningful basketball opportunities for people of all abilities aged 16 years and over.
Our program provides a safe, supportive and welcoming environment where participants can develop basketball skills, build confidence, stay active and create lasting friendships through sport.
Founded to break down barriers within basketball and community participation, All Abilities Hoops WA supports individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, psychosocial disabilities and additional support needs in a positive and empowering environment where everybody is encouraged to participate and succeed.
We offer beginner, intermediate, advanced and elite training sessions, including opportunities for WA State representative players, with programs focused on skill development, teamwork, fitness, leadership and social connection. From recreational participation through to domestic and representative basketball pathways, our goal is to create opportunities for players to grow both on and off the court.
At All Abilities Hoops WA, we believe basketball is more than just a game. It is about inclusion, belonging, confidence and creating a strong community where every player feels respected, supported and valued.
Our program is proudly run by dedicated volunteers including professional NBL1 basketball players, experienced coaches and disability support workers with up to 20 years of experience supporting people within the disability and community sector. Their passion, knowledge and commitment help create a positive environment where players feel safe, encouraged and empowered to reach their full potential both on and off the court.
Affiliation With Perth Redbacks
All Abilities Hoops WA is proudly affiliated with the Perth Redbacks, one of Western Australia’s leading basketball associations.
This affiliation helps provide players with opportunities to connect with the wider basketball community through domestic competitions, mentoring, development opportunities and community events. Through the support of the Perth Redbacks, our players have access to pathways within mainstream basketball environments while continuing to participate within a safe, inclusive and supportive community.
The affiliation also allows our players to engage with experienced coaches, NBL1 athletes and basketball mentors who help inspire confidence, leadership and skill development both on and off the court.
