🏀🎉 So proud of our amazing boys who rocked the Everyone's Game Carnival today! 🎉🏆

In our first competition with teams from all areas of Perth, our boys gave it their all and left it all on the court. We kicked off with a fantastic win in the first game, sealing it 12-9. The second game may not have gone our way (9-12), but our team bounced back with a vengeance in the third game, triumphing with a score of 21-4! 🙌 And talk about resilience – the fourth game ended in a thrilling draw, 14-14!

What truly warmed my heart was seeing the smiles on all their faces, showcasing not just their skills on the court but also their exceptional sportsmanship. These boys truly exemplify the spirit of camaraderie and the joy of playing the game with their peers. 🤝💙

🌟 What an incredible evening spent with some truly remarkable individuals. The basketball court was buzzing with energy as we shared the joy of the game together.

A huge shoutout to our special guests of the night: Denzel Jackson, a phenomenal player representing the Perth Redbacks, and Luke Simonetti, the dedicated assistant coach of the Perth Redbacks. Their presence and support added an extra dose of inspiration to our already fantastic team.

After an exhilarating day at the EVERYONE'S GAME CARNIVAL COMPETITION hosted by Basketball WA, I'm thrilled to announce the launch of our new page! 🚀

Our journey began in July 2023 with just 4 passionate individuals who shared a love for basketball but were missing a crucial element - a team. Fast forward to today, and All Abilities Hoops WA has evolved into so much more than just a basketball group. It's about the bonds of friendship, trust, and commitment that we've forged along the way. 🤝💪

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey - players, coaches, families, and our amazing supporters. Your dedication and effort have brought us to where we are today.

With the invaluable support and guidance of Dannie Zaps (league manager), Luke Simonette (Assistant from the Perth Redback and Coach of the Ivor Burge league), and @Denzel Jackson(from the Perth Redback NBL1 player), we could not have performed the way we did today at the EVERYONE'S GAME CARNIVAL COMPETITION. Your expertise and encouragement have been instrumental in our success.

We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Chris from West Raise, who generously supports us by lending 3 players from their squad due to some absences. We couldn't have played without your support.

Big cheers to the WA Men’s Ivor Burge Basketball Team as they head off to Ballarat today!

A massive shoutout to our All Abilities Hoops WA players Ben T, Ben R and Alex for earning their spots on the team. You’ve all worked incredibly hard for this opportunity and now it’s your time to shine on the big stage!

And let’s hear it for Mason, who made the reserves and has been an absolute superstar throughout the whole journey. Showing up to every training session, supporting the team and giving 100% every step of the way, that’s what true team spirit looks like!

Everyone at All Abilities Hoops WA is so proud of you all. Represent WA with pride, back each other and enjoy every moment of the experience.

Our players recently enjoyed a social night trying something new at Ridder’s Gym, taking part in a fun and inclusive Muay Thai session. The night was a great opportunity for players to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, stay active and strengthen friendships while learning new skills in a supportive environment. Experiences like these help promote social connection, teamwork and community participation both on and off the basketball court.

All Abilities Hoops WA had the wonderful opportunity to host a Come & Try session for two amazing social groups from Down Syndrome WA — Friends for Life and Aim High.

The groups joined us on court at Loftus Recreation Centre for an evening full of basketball, teamwork, laughter and connection. It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, supporting one another and having so much fun together!

A special shoutout to some of our very own players who stepped up to plan and run the activities on the night. We are incredibly proud of them for showing leadership, confidence and being such positive role models to their peers.

Massive thanks as well to our coaches Denzel Jackson, Jonah Underwood and Dannie Zaps for all their support, encouragement and help throughout the session.

This is what inclusive basketball is all about creating opportunities, building confidence and bringing people together through sport.

We’re excited to announce that Trinity College has reached out to All Abilities Hoops WA with an incredible opportunity to deliver a 5 week basketball clinic program for their Special Education students!

Our team will be running fun, engaging and inclusive skill-building sessions designed to empower students, build confidence and create opportunities for everyone to enjoy the game of basketball — no matter their ability.

This partnership is a fantastic opportunity to continue building inclusive pathways through sport while giving students the chance to learn new skills, make friendships and be part of a positive team environment.

We can’t wait to get started and share the All Abilities Hoops WA experience with the Trinity College community!

Our All Abilities Hoops WA 2025 Presentation Night was everything we hoped for and more. A true celebration of growth, effort, resilience and community.

This year wasn’t about wins on the scoreboard. It was about confidence built, friendships formed, skills developed and barriers broken. Every player showed up, pushed themselves and supported one another and that’s what truly matters.

A massive thank you to our players for inspiring us every single week, to our families for your constant encouragement, and to our coaches, volunteers and supporters who make this program possible. Your time, patience and belief in our athletes never goes unnoticed.

We are so proud of how far this community has come and even more excited for what’s ahead in 2026.

Huge appreciation to Deslee and Maryann for running our fundraising table today. Your ongoing support, dedication and hard work mean so much to our program and community.

This is a huge milestone for All Abilities Hoops WA and a proud moment for our entire community.

Becoming officially incorporated marks the next chapter in our journey and reflects how far we’ve come together. What started as a small inclusive basketball program has grown into a strong community built on friendship, opportunity, teamwork, and belonging.

Incorporation means we can continue to grow professionally and sustainably, strengthen our governance, create more pathways for players, apply for grants and funding opportunities, and ensure the program continues to support our players and families long into the future.

Most importantly, this achievement belongs to every player, family member, volunteer, coach, supporter, and community partner who has believed in our vision from day one.

More than anything, today was about having fun, being together, and enjoying the game — and that’s exactly what we did.
